What is Counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy where an individual is able to talk to a trained professional about problems they are facing and emotions they are experiencing. Talking can be a good way to help maintain your emotional and mental health needs just as exercise and a healthy diet can help to maintain your physical health.
We all face difficult, stressful and sad situations at some point in our lives and it can be hard to truly express ourselves to those closest to us for fear of judgement or causing pain to others. Talking to someone who is trained to listen confidentially, without judgement and who is outside your friendship and family network can be very helpful during what may feel like a lonely time.
The power of being listened to and understood is often underestimated. When we feel heard, whatever situation we are up against can feel more bearable and less isolating.

Online & Telephone Counselling
Online and telephone counselling has grown in popularity in recent years. I currently offer sessions via the telephone and Zoom only.
Online counselling offers many of the benefits that face to face counselling does as well as offering flexibility to those less able to travel or with busy lifestyles. It may feel safer to receive counselling from your own home at this time.
If we agree to work online, I will simply email the Zoom link to you before our session. When working on the telephone, I will call you at the agreed date and time. If you have any concerns about online working we can discuss these during our initial call. I will make it as straightforward as possible for you.
I work from a private room in my own home and I ask that you also have a private, safe and quiet space to meet from with good internet connection.
